Why I did this.....

This portfolio actually began years ago, as an undergrad.  In one of my methods class, we put together a paper portfolio during my senior year.  There, I began to piece together many of the elements seen on this electronic version.   One of the advantages of composing a portfolio electronically is that others can easily access my portfolio, allowing them to learn all about me via the internet.  Another advantage is that it is quick and easy to add, delete, or change pieces within the portfolio.  By keeping the needed files on hand, I can update my resume and quickly post it, revise a portion of my teaching philosophy, or even add new material from other classes.  Further, I can take a single piece from this portfolio, and utilize it elsewhere.  (For example, a lesson plan could be taken from here, and used, modified, or emulated by myself or my colleagues.

This portfolio will grow and change, as I do as a teacher.  Changes in the e-portfolio will reflect the direction in which my career takes me.
